Rüti Town Hall

The town hall as we know it today, has been built in the years 1707-1710 on the spot of an old monastery building from the 13th century that had been destroyed by fire.

The town hall has served the bailiff as a prestigious domicile and has also accommodated his employees and helpers. The community of Rüti ZH has bought the house in 1963 and declared the abandoned and dilapidated building as a historic monument following an expertise of the Federal Monument Preservation. After a reconstruction in 1984, the town hall has been ceremoniously handed over to the population as a house of encounter.

Today, the building accommodates the over 100-year old community chronicle, art exhibitions, event and rehearsal rooms, and the Albin-Zollinger-Stube, named in honour of the local poet, which is now used as room for civil ceremonies. Two vault cellars are available for exhibitions. The hall is mainly used for cultural events. The large traffic free yard is perfect for outdoor events.

Get married at the venerable Albin-Zollinger-Stube and share your joy with your friends during an aperitif in the hall or in the office room. Exhibit your art in the vault cellars.
