Kyburg Castle Museum

Schloss Kyburg
Kyburg Castle emerges 150 meters above the Töss river with a view over the wooded surroundings.
The keep is more than 800 years old and dominates the castle buildings that are surrounded by a circular wall. The counts of Kyburg have once resided here, followed by the Zurich bailiffs (Landvögte).

Exhibition

The new permanent exhibition of Kyburg Castle has opened!

Castle ...
At the Count's Hall and in the Great Tower, everything revolves around the main object of the first part of the museum's exhibition: the castle building itself. Discover the transformation of a count's castle to a bailiff's castle to the final castle museum. The overlaid structure built over the centuries has been exposed at numerous spots and interactive stations invite you to act as a castle scientist and test the different building methods for yourself.

... and reign

The second part of the exhibition focuses on the Kyburg counts and Zurich bailiffs and the question whether Kyburg Castle has ever been attacked and could be defended.
